A fantastical Beautiful Balled my friend!
When the lyrics came in... I wasn't expecting the change of pace. I feel it is slightly out of place, but I grew into it... the actual singing though still feels out of place, but come to think of it... what I would like to hear probably wouldn't go well with your change in style... would it?

Other then those minor issues that bother me, I hear no flaws in this piece... I absolutely love the piano by the way! 5 stars out of 5, and good luck for this deathmatch that I had no clue about.

SourJovis responds:

I don't know what you had in mind for the singing. Maybe if someone else sung it it would fit better. Glad you like it.

Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch? What was that, did I miss something?

Either way... I love the ambient feel of this... The violin is so soothing. Your friend Jeremy is a great musician. The coins help set the feel and location of the piece, as well as a little sort of percussion like concept as well. In all honesty, it feels like you would be in a market place, the way everything seems to mesh together in this musical fashion is nice.

I enjoyed every bit of this piece. I hope you do well in this deathmatch that I had little idea of. 5 stars out of 5 friend.

MichaelJ responds:

Check out the Deathmatch in the audio forum, they have it every year!

Jeremy is awesome... that's all I can really say.

I think the coins really embellish the piece. A market place is exactly the setting I had in mind.

Thank you for the review!

Space puzzle anyone?

First off... I find the tune and beat so catchy my head started bobbing away like a bobble head.

I like the change of pace you go with at 1:22. Ooohhh that's nice at 1:30. And then the synth comes in! Dude I am digging this... As a lover of 8-bit you have me sold on this piece! Hmm... I felt you could have kept the 8-bit going on longer at 2:50 but you make it up so.. I'm ok. Ah I see what you did... nice job on refreshing that catchy repetitive part! This song has a Space feel all over it! And again you hit me with something new at 5:10 or so into the song. This song is so good I could probably use some pointers from you! 6 minutes in, and I see no flaws! I like the rush you gave near the end of the song... it really helps end the piece doesn't it? And the fade out is classic!

Overall, I have enjoyed this incredible piece, granted it is a bit on the long side... I will probably listen to it quite a bit more in the future. I am going to leave this song with 5 stars out of 5! I absolutely loved it! Ha! rather then me reviewing you, you should be reviewing me... :P I could use some pointers. Thanks for this piece, and keep up the great work!

8-bitheroes responds:

Thanks very much for the encouraging words, I'm glad you liked it. Consider yourself favourited. I expect I will be reviewing some of your work in the near future!

First of all, I like the instrument choice... However, this song is quite repetitive. The change at 0:50 sounded a little weird to me. Same goes for the change later in the piece. Overall this song seems quite repetitive to me. I would work on varying your drum beats a bit more at locations and arguably add a bit more melody/harmony. I know you are going for a dance piece but I feel that this could use a bit more work. I hope to see a more fleshed out version in the future, as this is still good. Anyways I think this piece is at about 3 stars out of 5... It could be better with a bit more variation in melody and harmony. But it's not bad. keep working on your music!

Hmm... So my original thoughts are "What is this?" and "Is this going in Reverse?". Both of those seem plausible. I do like the change of pace and theme 2 minutes in.

Possibly one the biggest pluses on this, I believe is the uniqueness of the tune. But I suppose by combining two different pieces you were working on can do that can it not?

As for flaws... I noticed that the piece after about 3 minutes in became quite repetitive... try to stay away from that, or maybe make use of it. An example of making use of repetition, would be to take a catchy tune you already used to refresh the tune back into what you were doing... this eludes the listener from what actually is repetition... however don't get to careless with that.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Fantastic work... keep making more music!

I give you 4.5 stars out of 5. Great work!

Well obviously the boss is a giant maze of Mayonnaise!

The feel of this song is quite simply astonishing. I am feeling a sense of Nostalgia with a sense of uniqueness. I also love the title by the way. The song has it's ups and down and in a video game would be fitting for a nonsense boss like a maze of mayo. So you nailed that.

Anyways, I'd love to hear more music from you guys. Fantastic work!

Fantastic piece! Mind if I write the lyrics down for others to read to as the song goes on? :P

ThePal responds:

Why, thanks alot! I'll get to work as soon as possible!

Btw,
...You should've wrote "Disclaimer" instead of "note". :P

Awesome listen yo! I found my foot tappin, and head bobbin to this tune! Sounds very retro, and gives that Nostalgic feel to it! The tune itself is carried quite well, and the same goes for it's structure! A very well built Nostalgia inducing piece! 5/5

Megaman musik?!

No, but the sound is very SNES like, I love it! I do like how you fray from you main melody, however you keep the same progression going I would have liked it more had it strayed from that at around 1:30. Another thing, this song sounds like a constant battle, maybe have something a little more relaxing, and move into this amazing song. (After all, this isn't theme music, there should be a larger depth to it. Other then that! Amazing. (I'm just glad you added the fade out unlike so many others.. lol JK.) Good luck with the contest!

Woolio1 responds:

Thank you, your review basically sums up the song.

Sounds like I am listening to the music from "Avatar: The Last Airbender". lol (well at some parts.)

mixing could have been done better, I mean, you could have been way more subtle when changing melodies. (Sounds like a battle going on back and forth, like melodies that work against each other, which is really neat) However, the melodies are quite catchy, and very interesting to listen to.
Anyways good luck with the contest. I enjoyed this piece.

I am creative and love to draw, cartoon, write music, animate... I believe that with enough work Newgrounds will come to see that I have what it takes to be what I believe I can be. Thank You Newgrounds.
