K, first thing I noticed. This song is really repetitive... And I cannot stress it enough, repetivity is huge when it comes to video game music. However, the tune is quite catchy, and I do like your mix between the 8-bit synth and the bass/drums. And even though the tune is a bit repetitive, I can see this being used in a video game. So, overall I think you did quite well, however I feel you should move a bit more away from that repeating melody.

PhoenixUL responds:

That was kind of the point of this tune though. It wasn't a verse/chorus concept, but more just a jam that builds and builds. it's really a song to just vibe to.

Sounds Epic!

Sounds more like video game music then WWE music... lol
Kinda repetitive though... I mean no bridge even? Oh well, the repetitive tune is still catchy! XP

Why didn't you just make it a small 20-30 second loop? (That being an estimate on the time per loop.)

ThePal responds:

You're totally right, it's repetitive as hell. But the original is constructed EXACTLY like this, so that's what I went for. \o/

Let me add a looping version as well. :)

Chords instantly made me think of 'The Legend of Zelda" ... multiple times in this song. I am sure it was unintentional, but hard to avoid with certain chords.

Overall, really entertaining piece! Great work!

WingoWinston responds:

I never actually heard that. When I listened to it again after reading this though, I suppose I could hear the chords from Geurdo Valley. But yes, unintentional. You could probably tack the same review on zelda songs saying they sound like this or that as well. As is a common theme through a lot of songs.

If I get another review saying the same thing... then I know I must have had zelda on the mind :P

Cheers!

Dat Arpeggio!!!! Tons of fun to write in Finale I bet! XP

This song is catchy and enjoyable to listen. Not much I can say against this song, except repetition of a progression is really noticeable, so I'd work on that. The loop is ok, so overall I still feel that it deserves a 5 from me, but I'd refrain from staying in just one progression over the course of your songs. Add a bridge or just something to pull the listener away from the progression.

WingoWinston responds:

Yeah I know I went fairly lazy on this piece in terms of its progression, I don't really compose video game music so I paid less attention to it, BUT, I find it incredibly fun to do. I have started on a new piece which will have more substance, but it probably will not be finished for a while.

Thanks for the review!

Playing with an awesome chord progression huh? :D

Yup, Sounds really good yo! You didn't move from the chord progression at all, but I guess you still keep things from getting too repetitive by the change in the main melody. Very easy to listen too, loops well, Great job on this piece!!!!

Daydream-Anatomy responds:

Yeah, the chord progression's pretty common though, but it's easy to do so much with it:]

Thanks^^

Very Mellow, and entertaining to listen to. Loops Well!

Keep up the good work pal!

ThePal responds:

Thanks for the fine words, my good sir. :)

Amazing Remix. Definitely a different feel. I like this song fast paced, however I think I enjoy the original more, simply because it convey's a message in itself.
What you have done here is made a fun and fast paced song from a slower more epic and definitive song. And that indeed does make this entertaining to listen to, so Wonderful Job!

P.S. I actually only went to listen to the original because of this song. I never heard of it beforehand.

TastyTeo responds:

Thanks, you actually understood the message behind this song, congratulations :D

I know what you mean. XP (I get in the zone all the time with FL-Studio, however a good portion of my work goes unpublished, due to not being finished or something like that. I also love the finished work when it is done, and that accomplished feeling you get.)

Anyways, loving what you got going on here. The bass gets a little repetitive (granted that the only reason I noticed that was due to lack of melody at certain points), however the song is still enjoyable. I felt the emotion that was portrayed in the simple lyrics. And the beautiful handiwork you got going on there with the mastering. Definitely a wonderful piece of art in my books!

aevidal88 responds:

its trance lol but thx man : P

This progression you are using is one of my favorite progressions. I think what you have here is quite nice, however I did notice a few things. First off (And this one is a biggy), the progression is WAY TOO LONG. What I would work on is making a shorter progression so that it gets to the jumpy dancy whatever feel you want to come up next as soon as possible. Another thing you might try though is inserting a break, and break from your progression for a few moments, then run the progression from where you left off into what would be your dance party portion, your upbeat. Anyways. I enjoyed the feel of the song. Keep at it, I can tell you are good at this.

AWE SHUCKS, you make a guy blush! I will make the changes as soon as possible!

I can so see this as cinematic music to a video game.... Prolly a theme song for a mysterious/creepy villain. Great job on the loop. I'm enjoying it greatly! I really love how you handle the tun changing the beat and your placements of the beats... really keeps the song moving and hides all those repetitive patterns used.

Rekuiem responds:

Thanks I really glad you dig this tune. I can definitely understand the creepy villain aspect I use tracks like this to appeal to my dark passengers.

I am creative and love to draw, cartoon, write music, animate... I believe that with enough work Newgrounds will come to see that I have what it takes to be what I believe I can be. Thank You Newgrounds.
