Oh, thought I reviewed all the submissions to the contest so far.. guess not.

Anyways, I like what you have done in this song. You start it out by a nice simple melody, and then later in the song it gets more complex and tense. And then about 2 minutes in you go for the resolve into the main melody again. Fantastic job!!!!

Jernemies responds:

Thanks for your time too. :) I liked it too how it turned out - that melody was originally a riff! It was so fitting to the plot chart and 8-bit sounds, couldn't resist that. Again, thanks for the time.

Pancakes Yo!

This track is EPIC!
I'm really diggin the effects. Everything sounds amazing, however I'd work on making a better ending, as it sounds like this was meant to loop.

Ah, I didn't review this song yet?

I like your trills in this song. The tune is addicting to listen to. The flow is nice. If anything, I would avoid making a loop for contests where as the judges want a song that has a beginning and an end.

Mawnz responds:

Thanks you ^^ Yea I thought about that so I'm just going to add an ending to it for the competition. Thanks for reminding me :D
Good luck!

Really beautiful! You worked that progression to it's max potential! Although I agree with SourJovis, it's more of a sad story your telling here, I mean obviously something bad happened to one of the bits.

Lol, on a serious note. The song was very fluid, it portrayed a story very well. Overall, I enjoyed this piece very much. Good luck with the contest!

umm.... is there a scratch on the disk mum? This melody keeps playing over and over and over and over and over.... LOL

OK, on a serious note, the song is way to repetitive to start. However, I do have to say you have some interesting things going on in this piece. I'd work to stay away from constant repetition, I cant tell you how many times I wanted to stop listening just because of how annoying that melody is after a short while.... (Ah I was right!!!!! there is a scratch on the disk!!!!!! LOL, the best part was the end!)

I think you could have done better. 3.5/5

bigbadron responds:

i probably could have done better, but it's not very often that i produce music anymore. i hit walls, stop, and usually never come back to it. so when i start making a track, i try to do it in one sitting. sometimes they do come out a bit repetitive, but i am still pleased with it. listening to it now, i could have changed a thing here and there, but i could do that forever.

most likely, i'll probably remix what i have and make it much nastier. something that wouldn't fit the contest. :P but thanks for your input.

Great Build up!!!!!
Sounds like a title theme for a game titled "Fuzzy the Robot Bee".
OH!!! neat thing near the ending there, the bee must have gotten a power up!
Overall I really enjoyed this song, however, the ending seemed a bit short. (But that is just my personal opinion.) Great job nonetheless.

SourJovis responds:

Maybe there should've been a more quiet part after this end, to fit the plot chart better. Or perhaps this is exactly how they want it. I don't know. We'll see. Thanks for the review.

So many sampled sounds!!!! XP
This is real good. brings back my childhood!!
I like your bridge about 2 minutes in!
Now, because I can't find anything wrong in this, I am going to try and name the sampled sounds I hear!
1. Coin
2. Sonic's jump
3. Mario Pipe

Sadly, that is all I hear, if there is more, think you could reply, and let me know what they are?

Jabun responds:

Cheers, GamekrazzyProduction! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. As for the sampled sounds, you are soooo close XD
1. Gameboy Colour turn-on sound (pitched to fit the key of the piece)
2. I think you're right, though I sampled this off the 8-bit effects patch on my brother's kaossilator. It's certainly someone's jump XD
3. Spot on! That was indeed the Mario pipe sound (from world 1-2 I believe XD)

Other than that, there were just a load of Commodore 64 drum sounds I found. Thanks for noticing all the little things I put in. I think they really help the piece to come alive (and tickle that oh so sweet nostalgia XD) Cheers : D

"Hmm, the song first creates a picture for the listener, then events start to happen around a minute in, A layover of the scenery plays yet again after the events, then the start of something new occurs changing the layover of the scenery. And yet again, a layover of the scenery...."

Let me just say WOW, this is a well built song. The only thing I have to say, is you did not finish the song, you built it to loop, and I could easily tell that from the way it ended. But, that is my only complaint. AMAZING! Keep up the good work!

NoStereo responds:

Thanks for the Awesome review! :)

Sounds like a song put in reverse. (judging by the location of the beats)
I do like your bridge between the 2 parts however, and then you go back and start the loop again. NICE! I can see this being used say if it were to fade out. Not bad. However the mood doesn't quite change to fit a cinematic, so in the same way, I don't see it being used. Great job though!!!!

I am creative and love to draw, cartoon, write music, animate... I believe that with enough work Newgrounds will come to see that I have what it takes to be what I believe I can be. Thank You Newgrounds.
